This species of curved-billed song bird is a medium size bird from the family Mimidae which family also includes catbirds, mockingbirds (and the tremblers which are endemic to the Lesser Antilles located in the southwestern part of the Caribbean sea.)
This bird is the only member of the genus Oreoscoptes.

Description
The Sage Thrasher are pale grey-brown on the upper-parts and white with dark streaks on the under-parts. They have a slim straight relatively short bill, yellow eyes and a long tail, although not as long as that of other thrashers.
