The Jawless Fish

The Jawless Fish, Class Agnatha Go Down Go Back
In the Class Agnathak, (jawless fish) there are two subclasses: Hagfish and Lanpreys with a total in the subclasses of about two genera and 58 species.
Jawless Fish are eel-shaped, slime producing fish which have a jawless skull but not a vertebral column and characterized by a toothed, funnel-like sucking mouth.

Class Agnatha (Jawless fish) 58 species.

Subclass Myxini (Hagfish) 20 species.
Hagfish are eel-shaped, slime producing fish which have a jawless skull but not a vertebral column.

Subclass Cyclostomat (Lampreys) 38 species
Lampreys are jawless fish with a funnel-like, toothed sucking mouth; 18 of which are parasitic and some of these known for boring into the flesh of other fish to suck their blood
