The Order Austrobaileyales Go Down Go Up
The order Austrobaileyales is an order of flowering plants consisting of about 101 species of woody plants which grow as vines, shrubs and trees.
The order Austrobaileyales belongs to the group of basal angiosperms of which there are three orders: 1. Amborelaes; 2. Austrrbaileyales; and 3. Naymphaeales.
The order Austrobaileyales is sister to all remaining extant angiosperms outside of the three Austrobaileyales orders.
Families
The order Austrobaileyales includes just three families of flowering plants:
1. Austrobaileyaceae, a sole genus-species
2. Schisandranceae, a group of vines, shrubs and trees
3. Trimeniaceae, a group of vines and trees bearing essential oils.

This genus Illicium is a notably difficult genus to taxonomically classify.

Additionally, herbarium material is often poorly preserved and/or scarce.
Currently, their are 38 species in this genus.

Kadsura has 3 sub-genus sections and 16 species

Schisandra has 25 species
