Total Lunar Eclipse
One 31 January 2018, there was a total lunar eclipse which occurred. The Moon was near its perigee on 30 January and as such the Moon could be described as a supermoon. The previous supermoon lunar eclipse was in September 2015.
During the total eclipse, the Moon was 223,819 miles (360,202 km) from the Earth, but the definition of a supermoon is that the Moon needs to be less than 223,694 miles (360,000 km) from the Earth. So, it was close to being a supermoon but technically, missed it by 125 miles.
Since this moon occurred on the 31st of January, it was the second full moon of the month, making the one on 31 January a blue moon.
Thus, the full moon on 31 January was referred to as a Super, Blue, Blood Moon which has also been dubbed a Trifecta Concurrence

Overnighting in a parking lot,
Upon awaking, I look at the moon and it does not take long before I realize that the eclipse has begun.
Too, I notice that there is a haze in the atmosphere which keep the moon from being as clear as I could normally photograph.
I begin using the Moon setting on my camera and take my first photograph at six-sixteen this morning.

I try a different lenses setting to see if any of the red color that I am seeing will show in the photos and find the Dusk-Dawn setting to show a little of the color.

Again, I think that the color that I am seeing live is more orange that what is coming out in these photographs, so I change from the Dusk-Dawn setting to the Sunset setting.

I switch back and try both the Dusk-Dawn setting and the Moon setting again to see what the moon looks like now.

However, after a couple of photos, I change back to the Sunset setting because it seems to be getting a much closer color to what the moon actually looks like.

I notice that the sky is beginning to illuminate from the increasing light of the dayspring, I turn and see that the sunglow is quite bright on the eastern horizon behind me. This makes me realize that this photo session is just about over.
With the suntouch coming at 07:33 this morning, the bright sunglow at 07:00 begins to cause the total eclipse to fade from sight.

By 07:10, the moon is too low on the horizon and too diminished by the sunglow to continue photographing it, which has eliminated the entire back half of the eclipse cycle for me.
I suppose that the west coast will have a little more time to photograph the return of the moon from total back to a full moon before the sun sets.
