Order: Columbiformes, Family: Columbidae
Genus: Zenaida, Species: Macroura, L 12 inches

Range
Widespread except in Arctic areas and closed canopy forests.
Habitat
Abundant and increasing near farms and suburbs. These birds can been seen singly, in pairs or in flocks. Flight is swift, darting and with a whistling sound.
Description
Tapered tail shows white edges when in flight, females are slightly duller and juveniles are the dullest.
