Range
Numerous year round across the continent with exception of the northwest. Nesting or summers in norther areas but most common in the southern areas.
Habitat
Widespread in open land, suburbs.
Description
Alert, active and aggressively defends breading territory, even to the point of attacking both animals and humans. Feed on insects, fruit and is usually alone or in pairs. Both sexes have original and mimicked song phrases which they repeat endlessly.
Gray above, dark wings and tail with white patches which are conspicuous in flight.
Juvenile is slightly browner with spotted breasts.
