The Nehalem Bay State Park, Oregon

The Campsite
Nehalem Bay State Park Campground
The campground is located on the northern Oregon Coast, near the communities of Nehalem and Manzanita on the Nehalem Spit, a sand spit west of Nehalem Bay.
The county of Tillamook transferred the land to the State of Oregon for a park in the 1930s. During the 1940s and 1950s, workers planted European beach grass, shore pine, and Scotch broom to stabilize the dunes, which process took an additional twenty years. The park opened in 1972.
