The Bolivar Point Light, Texas Go Down Go Back
Bolivar Point Light
The Bolivar Point light is located at 419 Everett, Port Bolivar, along Texas state highway 87 . It can be accessed by auto by crossing the Galveston-Port Bolivar Ferry at the northeast end of Galveston Island.

History:
The lighthouse as it stands today is at least the second structure at the site. The first lighthouse was built in 1852 of cast iron made at the Murray and Hazlehurst foundry in Baltimore which was pulled down during the Civil War so that Union warships could not use it as a navigational aid.

The 2022 Journey, Bolivar Point Light Go Down Go Up
When upon searching the internet for additional information and photos concerning this light, I found a virtual tour available online. So, after a long virtual climb up the stairs, I arrive at the top of the lighthouse, enter lantern room and I am able to take screen shots of the surrounding view.
