QUIRE ELEVEN: CHAPTER THIRTEEN
The Quest for The Solace, Part Three

On Loving God Wholeheartedly Go Down Go Back
The Journey On Continues, 10 March 2019 through 17 July 2019
After locating and purchasing a replacement jammer, I still need to stay in Texas for a couple of weeks while waiting for the state to provide me first, with my license plate and inspection sticker, after which I still need to wait another couple of weeks to receive the title to the vehicle.
I spend the time working on the website pages and photos. After obtaining the title, I return to Del Rio and resume my travel up the Rio Grande river.

The Texas Sojourn Awaiting The Jammer Title Go Down Go Up
Sunday, 10 March 2019, San Marcos, TX.
(Day 201 TG) 60°F. 6:30 am, overcast

Overnighting in a parking lot
According to Psalms 90: 10, the lifespan of most humans amounts to 70 or 80 years. The eighty years equals to 29,220 days, or just over 29 Journeys of a Thousand days. Notably, this day begins my 25,000 day alive. Yes, that amounts to 25 Journeys of a Thousand Days and it is on this day that I begin my 26th Journey of a Thousand Days, with only four left before I arrive at eighty years of age.
Although last evening began quite on the warm side, it did not take long for the night air to cool down and soon, I was all covered up with my sleeping bag.
I awake this morning to a fog saturated air, dress, drive to the w-mart, park and go in for coffee, com, and to update my journal. Then, I begin working on today′s Bible study, which is such an encouraging study about the year text, Do Not Be Anxious, for I am Your God. I can truly see how Jehovah is preparing his people here on earth to be ready for Armageddon. The congregation that I visit today is the second English one at the hall and these friends are just as nice as the first congregation visited Thursday evening.
I leave the hall and then drive to the w-mart to continue pounding keys, staying here until after dark again. I take this afternoon to do a factory data reset on my phone, the first one since I purchased it several years ago. I had only recently learned how to do it and it takes most of the rest of the day. However, now I know how to do it and plan to do it again to try to get it even better.
It is after sunset when I leave the w-mart and drive to the d-mart for the evening. Today, the top temperature was in the high 70s and it will be the same until the weekend when it will drop back down again, but not as low as it was two weeks ago when in Abilene, I had to flee southward here to avoid the freezing temperatures.
So, methinks, due to this warming trend, it is getting close to the need for me to move north again.

(Day 202 TG) 59°F. 6:30 am, overcast
Overnighting in a parking lot
Upon awaking at the same time that I have been now for some time, today, with the time change, it is totally dark. My alarm has an automatic update to Daylight Savings time so in reality, I am up an hour earlier and the clock in the jammer attests because it is still set at 5:30 because I have yet to set it forward one hour. Methinks that DST will no longer exist in the paradise simply because we will never have need to save time.
After the sunsets, I drive to the d-mart and set up to overnight.
(Day 203 TG) 61°F. 6:30 am, rain
Overnighting in a parking lot
Another day of my regular routine, of sitting in the w-mart and pounding keys on the computer.
(Day 204 TG) 59°F. 7:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Rising from the rear of the jammer, I dress, grab my computer and head inside for coffee, com and key pounding. In the mid afternoon, I pack out and drive to the d-mart to do an oil change on the jammer. It has just gone over sixty-six thousand miles and the old oil was quite dirty. Also, I will need to do a coolant change real soon because it is more brown than green. All in time.
Then, when that is done, I return to the w-mart and resume the pounding keys until just before the w-mart closes. I go out to the jammer and climb into the back.
(Day 205 TG) 65°F. 7:30 am, rain
Overnighting in a parking lot
I rise, dress, grab my computer bag and go inside for coffee, com and more key pounding.
In the mid afternoon, the car lot owner calls to tell me that he received my title and will soon send it to the address that I provided him. I sent a text to Susan letting her know that the title is on the way. I suspect that it will be next week before it arrives at the ranch.
Then, I resume the pounding keys until just before the w-mart closes. Then, I pack out, drive to the d-mart and park for the night.

Awake, drive to a ff-mart for coffee and then begin the 15 mile drive east on SH 80 towards the closest state park with a hot shower.

Upon arriving at Lockhart State Park this morning, I show my pass to enter and then drive into the park to find it has only one shower house, and the shower house has only one men′s shower. However, the number does not matter to me at all unless there happens to be a long line waiting to use it and there isn′t. What does matter to me however, is the temperature of the water and this shower′s hot water is too hot to use without adding some cold water and I totally love it.
After putting on the clean, I drive to the top of the hill and walk around the CCC Lodge and take a few photos of the mostly wood structure.

After the short visit to the state park, I return to the jammer, drive back to the w-mart in San Marcos and return to key pounding for the remainder of this day. I continue to wait on the State of Texas for them to send me the title for the jammer.
At sunset, I leave, drive to a Mexican restaurant for supper, after which, I return to the w-mart park and climb into the back to read for a while.
(Day 207 TG) 44°F. 6:30 am, clouds
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress, walk inside for coffee, com, and key pounding.
When it warms up to 60 degrees, I pack out to work on the roof of the jammer and finish with the sanding and primer on the top rear, but do not spray the top coat of paint because it is not hot enough to continue. So, I go to Mamacita′s Mexican for my supper.
After eating, I return to the d-mart and get into the back to read for a while before closing my eyes. Methinks, I really love eating in good Mexican restaurants but deep down, I know that the food value is quite bad.
Sunday, 17 March 2019, San Marcos, TX.
(Day 208 TG) 43°F. 7:00 am, cloudy
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake to a second day of cooler mornings, but this is nowhere as cold as it was during the last week of February and the first week of this month, March. I remain here still awaiting for the arrival of my title, knowing that it could show up any day now. When it does arrive, methinks that I will drive next to Big Bend national park and spend some time in the hot springs. Earlier, I had dismissed driving there because of the condition of the 1989 blue jammer, but now, with the 1997 white jammer starting ever morning like a trooper, I have no reason not to go.
I start the jammer, drive to the w-mart, purchase coffee, check com, and then get started on today′s journal entry. At nine this morning, I pack out, put on my meeting clothes and then drive to the hall for the meeting. Methinks, about the meetings, I am convinced that Jehovah is getting his people ready for the upcoming Great Tribulation. Afterwards, I drive back to the w-mart to continue waiting for the title to arrive, but at three this afternoon, it becomes warm outside, in the high sixties, so I drive to the d-mart to continue the work on painting the roof of the jammer.
Once I have found a good spot, I open the tail gate, pull the spare tire off of the roof and begin work. Shortly after, a man walking a dog strolls by and I greet him. When he looks into the back of the jammer, he asks me, Do you live in your van? to which I answer, Yes, this year begins my eleventh year full time. A smile comes onto his face and he then begins to ask several questions about how I manage to get by living in a vehicle. A little later, he begins to tell me that he too is living in his vehicle and how that came about after his wife divorced him, after which, I give him one of my TWJ cards and then share my story of how my wife divorced me and then I left afoot wearing a backpack to walk for three years in search of the meaning of life.
After some time, his dog begins to whine, so he excuses himself to continue the walk they were on. I tell him that I will be around for a day or two more before I begin my move north for the summer. We exchange names and both express the hope to see each other again. I go back to work on the roof and he returns to walking his dog and heads back to his parked vehicle.
When I finish the roof, I go inside the d-mart to buy some vegetables and afterwards drive to the area where Armondo is parked. I get out of the jammer and ask him is he would like to join me for a meal and he answers, yes. I get out my cook pot and begin cutting up the vegetables while the water begins to boil. Soon, we are eating a cup of my Repast and I continue talking to him about the Bible and the great fellowship that I eventually found with Jehovah′s Witnesses.
After I clean up the kitchen, he has to leave to help his niece and I drive back to the w-mart to park for the night. This has been a very long day.
Monday, 18 March 2019, San Marcos, TX.
(Day 209 TG) 43°F. 7:00 am, cloudy
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress, walk inside to order coffee, check com and update my journal entry for yesterday and this morning. Too, I spend a lot of time working on the photo gallery on my website.
At seven, I pack out and drive to the d-mart for the night. I have been alternating nights between the d-mart parking lot and the w-mart parking lot. I like the d-mart because it is so quite but at the w-mart, all I have to do is dress and walk inside for my coffee.
(Day 210 TG) 49°F. 7:00 am, Cloudy
Overnighting in a parking lot
Upon rising, I dress and go inside the d-mart to find a new pair of trousers for the meeting because the old pair (the one that was part of my brown suit that Brother White from the Bay Area congregation gave me) just plain wore out. I was able to find a nice navy-gray pair and now all I have to do is find a suit coat to go with it. After checking out, I drive to the w-mart for my coffee, com, key pounding and waiting for the title to arrive.
I have finished painting the roof of the jammer, I have done laundry, I have had a shower this week and all that is left is for a call from my sister Susan that the title has arrived.
At six-thirty this evening, I pack out and put on my meeting clothes, then drive to the hall for the meeting. I look at the moon which has risen just before the sunset and then go inside for fellowship and spiritual food.
After the meeting, I drive back to the w-mart, park and get horizontal.
(Day 211 TG) 52°F. 7:30 am, cloudy

Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, rise, walk into the w-mart for coffee, com and another day of pounding keys. I hope to finish rewriting Chapter Ten of the online journal today.
About six this evening, Susan texts me to tell me that the title arrived in the mail. However, she tells me that she is sick and asks if I can wait until she is better. Of course, I tell her that I will wait. I am just elated that it finally has come and that I can once again Journey On.
Just before the sunset, with Chapter Ten completed and uploaded, I drive to Kyle, park, get out and photograph the full moon, orange in sunglow. Next, I walk into Casa Mexican restaurant for fish tacos. I note in my Google review that these fish tacos are second only to one other location and that was the tacos that I had at Pecan Street Brewery on Day 177 TG. After the meal, I drive to the parking lot near the w-mart and retire for the evening.
(Day 212 TG) 51°F. 7:00 am, cloudy but dry
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress, and walk into the w-mart for coffee, com and to continue pounding keys. I work on the online journal from Quire Ten and while rewriting the paragraphs, at the same time, update the photos and links.
After long hours working on the web pages, I then get into the horizontal and close my eyes.
(Day 213 TG) 48°F. 7:00 am, sunny

Suntouch at 0737 AM
Awake, dress, step outside the jammer and see the wanning gibbous moon less than two hand above the horizon and take a few photos of the 98 percent moon. I then walk inside and soon after see the suntouch.
This goes on all day long until after the sun sets when I pack out and drive north on SH 150 then turn north on SH 12 to Dripping Springs, Texas where I located a parking lot to spend the night.
Before getting into the horizontal and then receive a text from Susan telling me that she is feeling better. I then get into the horizontal and close my eyes.

Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress, drive to the w-mart and go in for coffee, com, and then key pounding again today until shortly after noon when I pack out and drive about eighteen miles to Pedernales Falls state park for a hot shower. Afterwards, I stop at the bird blind to see what birds are making a show and find it is none that I have not seen before. I then pack out and drive back to the w-mart in Dripping Springs.
Sunday, 24 March 2019, Dripping Springs, TX.
(Day 215 TG) 61°F. 7:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
The day begins with sunshine and ends with the sun going down at the horizon in the distance. I begin by driving to the w-mart and using my tablet to study for the meeting after which, I pack out, put on my suit and then driving the fifteen miles to the hall in Wimberley. After the meeting, I drive to the ranch and find Susan home, but she is just now getting up and calls out, I have to get dressed.
I wait outside and soon, she come out carrying the envelope with my title in it and numerous other envelopes. When she gives me the mail, I immediately open the title and check that everything is correct, which it is. I then get a hug from both Chad and Susan and we move to the lodge for a short time to talk during which I tell them that I want to get on the road to Big Bend right away. After I get the tour and leave a few of my boxes in the storage area, I get another hug from Susan and then show here my new jammer. Lauren never even comes out of her room.
I get into the jammer and decide that since I have never gone through Fischer, I drive south on Fischer Store road towards the town of Fischer, Texas and see the Fischer Store, which is not too impressive. I then turn west on SH 32, and eventually arrive in Blanco, Texas where I turn west on SH 1623, then SH 1888 both of which follow the Blanco river upstream and finally into Lukenbach, Texas where I stop for a bumper sticker. Yes, I am still gathering a few to put on the side windows.
Leaving Lukenbach, I drive on US 291 to Fredericksburg, Texas and then take SH 16 southwest from there to Kerrville, Texas and stop at Mamacita′s for fish tacos which restaurant is in my top three places (all in Texas) to eat fish tacos. After my meal, I drive to the w-mart, go in and update my journal and check my com.

Tomorrow, I wish to drive to the national park but it is about an eight hour drive, so I have decided to break it up into two separate segments. The first one will take me to Seminole Canyon state park where I will stop for a hot shower. After that, I should be good to go the rest of the way to Big Bend.
However, that will not begin until tomorrow morning and I pack out of the w-mart, drive across the street to the d-mart and make ready for the evening.
Yes, now that I have the title to my jammer, I can resume the path that I was previously on, that of journeying up the Rio Grande river.

The Return to the Journey Upriver Go Down Go Up
(Day 216 TG) 63°F. 7:00 am, fog
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and a short period of pounding keys to await for the sun to rise for my upcoming drive to the Langford hot springs.
Since the drive from here in Kerrville is a full eight hours to Big Bend national park, maybe a little more to the river, I have also decided to drive to Chisolm Basin first and overnight in the parking lot there. Then, on Tuesday morning, I will drive to the river and go to the hot springs.
Leaving out of Kerrville, I retrace the same route that I took here from Del Rio when I left my river route on Day 176 TG. Doing this, I arrive back in Del Rio shortly before noon and stop at the d-mart gas station to fill up the tank because it is cheaper here than any where else.
Del Rio, TX. 400 Miles Upriver
From here, I now resume my travel up the river and first drive to Seminole Canyon state park for a hot shower and rest up for a time. I even talk with Dustin about The Lord′s Prayer. Leaving the state park, I continue my drive upriver and stop next at Lantry, Texas where I am able to acquire two Texas bumper sticker.
When I leave Lantry, I continue west on US 90 through the long desert stretch and then stop in Marathon, Texas where I gas up, and buy some vegetables at the French market. After that, I turn south on US 385 and drive another desert stretch, I arrive in the park but it is already after five pm and both the entrance both and visitors center are closed so I can not stop for a bumper sticker. So, instead, I drive up to the Chisos Basin and park in the lodge parking lot.
I go into the general store but find that they are sold out of bumper stickers. Next, I walk up to the gift shop in the lodge but find the same there. While in the lodge, I see that there is a patio with a grand view of the window, so I go for my camera in the jammer.
I get out my camera and get ready for the sunset, but I notice a peculiar bird about six inches that is flitting around the parking area so I begin taking photos of the bird and trying to id it in my book. It is not until later when I go into a visitors center that a volunteer tells me right away that it is a Vermilion flycatcher.
After getting my fill of the window sunset and several birds, I walk back down to the jammer and begin recording today′s passage on my journal. Then, I get into the horizontal.
Tuesday, 26 March 2019, Chisos Basin, TX.
(Day 217 TG) 56°F. 7:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
I awake, dress, drive off the mountains down to the flats and then east on the park road about thirty miles and turn right on the hot springs road. Then, I drive down a wash to the Rio Grande river canyon and park in the parking lot. I prepare my day pack and then head downriver along the trail and immediately see a roadrunner just ahead of me which I take several photos of. I continue to Langford hot springs arriving before eight-thirty this morning and find this spot to be very peaceful. After soaking for about four hours, I pack out and drive back to the basin and park in the lodge parking lot and in the heat of the day, I climb into the back of the jammer to rest for a time.
Then, at six this evening after the temperature has cooled down, I start the jammer and drive out of the park and head up SH 118 towards Alpine, Texas. It is a long drive across the desert and I am so glad that I waited for it to cool down before driving the distance. I even watch a nice sunset followed by a beautiful sunglow while driving along the Texas state highway. When I arrive in Alpine, I turn west on US 90 and drive out of town in the dark. In a half hour, I arrive at the Marfa Light rest stop, get out and walk to the back of the center and find a large group of people all talking about the three to four pinpoints of light on the horizon south of the rest stop. There is one red light, and two other white lights moving back and forth on the horizon. Sometimes, one of the lights splits and increases the number.
Everyone is talking about what they think the Marfa Lights are, one lady even says, They are aliens come here from another world, I really believe in aliens. I don′t venture a guess as to what the lights are, but I know one thing, they are not aliens from another world. I refrain from speaking my opinion and just watch the pinpoint lights for a little while longer.
They seem to be moving but with the wind blowing so hard, I am just not sure. Neither do I have any idea what is causing these lights. I finally depart the back of the rest stop, walk back to the jammer and get into the horizontal. It is about nine-thirty when I return to the jammer.
Wednesday, 27 March 2019, Marfa Lights, TX.
(Day 218 TG) 60°F. 7:00 am, cloudy, light rain
Marfa Lights Rest Stop, Marfa, Texas
Rising, I get dressed, start the jammer and drive the four miles to Marfa, Texas, stopping as an ag-mart to refuel. I also purchase a cup of coffee and then resume my drive west on US 90 to Van Horn, Texas where I turn west on IH 10 and drive to El Paso, Texas. Once in El Paso, I turn north on US 54, drive seven miles to Woodrow Bean Transmountain Drive exit and stop at the w-mart, arriving just before noon to upload photos and files.
I continue pounding keys all day and then after the sunset, go out to the jammer to get into the horizontal.
Thursday, 28 March 2019, El Paso, TX. 830 Miles Upriver
(Day 219 TG) 51°F. 6:30 am, cloudy
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, walk inside, coffee, com, pound keys; not particularly in that order. I continue all day awaiting for the time to drive to the hall for the meeting. Even though there are many other halls, this is the only hall that I know where it is located here in El Paso. Too, it is on the very north side of the city away from most of the crazy that occurs in most cities in this day.
At six-fifteen, I pack out to the jammer, dress in my meeting clothes and then drive to the hall arriving early. Several of the friends say that they recognize me but don′t remember my name.
Afterwards, I return to the parking lot where I have been camped out and get into the horizontal.
(Day 220 TG) 55°F. 7:30 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, rise, dress, walk inside for coffee, com and key pounding working on reorganizing part two of this chapter. When I am done with that, I upload the files and then pack out to drive to the hg-mart to purchase some more super food blue powder which I am just about out of, however, none of the hg-marts that I go to have the good stuff so I just drive on and head north out of El Paso on IH 10 towards Las Cruces.
At about one in the afternoon, I arrive in Las Cruces, New Mexico where I can go in to one of my bank branches to update my address changes and to make sure all of my new bank cards are working properly. Leaving Las Cruces, I drive north on US 70 to Tularosa, New Mexico and then take US 54 north to Carrizozo, New Mexico, stop and break a large bill so that I will have small bills to pay for camping tonight.
Upon starting the jammer, the Check Engine light comes on. I leave Carrizozo west on US 380 and drive four miles to the Valley of the Fires campground, pull in and set up in space 16 right by the big hill in camp.
Then, I get out my water bucket and wash the jammer because it sure needed it. After that, I drive to the shower house and get under the hot water. I had forgot this campground had a hot shower but I did remember that this one is one of my favorites. Returning to the camp space, I get out my computer and look at my CRS and find Valley of the Fires to have a 9.0 rating.

Valley of the Fires, space 16. CRS: 9.0
I awake, dress, drive to the shower house to get under the hot water once again before I get under way. Leaving the campground, I turn left on US 380, drive to the Rio Grande river, cross the river at what seems to still be flood stage, turn right and drive north on IH 25 to Socorro, New Mexico, the first town with an ap-mart that will have a onboard diagnostic scanner to tell me what part caused the check light to go on.
The store clerk tells me that it is the camshaft position sensor (CPS) and can get one by tomorrow morning. I ask, Can you tell me where the part is located on my vehicle? to which he says, No. I tell him that if I do not know where it is located, I can not determine if I can replace it or not. I leave and drive up river to the next ap-mart in the town of Los Lunas, New Mexico where there is a ap-mart and w-mart next to each other. I go into a w-mart to check online so that I can learn where the CPS is located.
When I find out where to look for it, I go out to the jammer, take the doghouse cover off, find the part on the engine and decide that I can do the repair. So I go into the ap-mart and order the part, which the clerk tells me that it will arrive today by three pm. At three, the clerk comes over the w-mart and hands me the part. Wow, what service. I finish up working on my computer and then go outside to the jammer to install the new part, hopping this corrects the problem on the jammer.
It takes only fifteen minutes to replace the sensor, but then another two hours to close up the dog house, reconnect the battery, put every thing back in it′s place and clean up both me and the jammer. I walk into the ap-mart and thank the clerk for walking the part over when it arrived and gave him the old part. Then, I drive across to the west side of the interstate, stop at the d-mart and buy a sack full of vegetables. After that, I drive north on IH 25 through Albuquerque, New Mexico, continue north to Santa Fe, NM and take SH 599 bypass around the city an turn north on US 285 to Espanola, NM along which I watch the sunset. Then, I turn east on SH 68 and drive another fifty miles to Taos where I pull into the d-mart to park for the night.
It is very cold this evening, but I can understand that since a cold front just blew down from the north and the elevation here at Taos, New Mexico is about 6969 feet.

I awake, turn on the jammer engine and also the heater. Then, I begin getting dressed in my winter blues. I next drive to a ff-mart to buy a cup of coffee, sit in the parking lot to sip on the coffee and log into the internet. After checking my com, I begin working on the Bible study for today′s meeting. At nine this morning, I put on my meeting clothes and then drive to the hall arriving at a quarter before ten am. The meeting is very encouraging and the study is about how important he memorial of Jesus′ death is for Christians. This study has given me more respect for the only celebration Jesus commanded his disciple to commemorate. (Luke 22:19)
When I walk out of the hall, it is snowing, so I immediately decide to drive down the river from Taos to a much lower elevation which can only provide me with a warmer sleeping berth. Apparently, I got ahead of the weather on my drive today. I intend to go to the first town with a w-mart, d-mart and other marts on my list of stops and I set my GPS for Santa Fe.
After only a short drive, I stop at the Rio Grande Gorge Visitors Center and walk inside for a sticker but do not like the one they have there. I also get a couple of maps of the monument and take a photo of the snow coming down outside.

After the short stop, I continue down the river until I come to Espanola, NM where I find that all three marts are located close together, so, I pull into the w-mart and begin pounding keys to get caught up on my journal entries.
Then at about eight, I pack out and drive to the d-mart for the night.

Sleep very late this morning until the sun begins to warm up the jammer and then rise, dress in my winter blues and then head for the w-mart for coffee, com and to continue pounding keys.
I have need to update my current journal with more pre-formatted journal entries blanks so as to prevent from having to spend so much time with each journal entry, a task which I normally do a month in advance. I complete this at ten this morning and soon after, pack out to resume my upriver travel, especially now since the snow has stopped and it is a bit warmer.
I drive back over the same route I previously driven to Taos but most of which was in the dark and I was not able to see the surrounding landscape. Much of what I see here is desert that is slowly coming out of winter and so it is still brown.
I follow the river valley up SH 68 for some time and then the river goes into the gorge, which at this point is somewhat small. The roadway follows the river in the gorge and both begin to wind to and fro upwards along the river.
When I arrive at Pilar, New Mexico, I go into the Gorge visitors center. After a short stop, I drive up SH 570, a paved road, into the gorge and soon arrive at the entrance to the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument.
There are several campgrounds, some even with electric hookup all at a good price. Then, I come to and cross the Taos Junction bridge but since the recent snow, I choose not to continue up from there out of the gorge on the mostly mud roadway.
So, I turn around, drive back downriver to SH 68 and continue to Taos, New Mexico where I turn east on US 64 and drive the 14 miles to the Rio Grande river gorge where I cross the river on the Rio Grande High Bridge. I stop to take photos of both the bridge and the Rio Grande River Gorge.
I stop at the highway rest stop and work on cleaning up the jammer and using my cook pot make a new batch of my almond fudge. After about an hour, I continue west on US 64 to Tres Piedras, turn north on US 285 and drive north into Colorado. I see on my map that Great Sand Dunes national park has a campground, so head up to Alamosa, Colorado then east on US 160 to SH 150 and turn north. On this highway, I see a Kingdom hall, stop and find out that the English meeting is tomorrow at seven, so I make a mental note that if I am still in this area, to be here then.
After only a short time, I come upon a park sign that informs me that the national park campground is not open yet. I immediately turn around and drive back to Alamosa and stop at the d-mart for the evening.
(Day 224 TG) 30°F. 7:00 am, sunny, frost
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, go through my routine this morning and then drive to the local g-mart with a w-mart inside. Normally, I do not go to these locations because they normally do not have electrical plugs, but yesterday I checked and found that it did, along with plenty of seating. So, I get my bag an also look for my phone battery charger but it is nowhere in the bag or in the jammer. Methinks that I left it plugged into an electrical outlet at one of the previous w-marts that I have stopped at in the last two days.
I begin mentalizing my last few days and determine that I only stopped in two w-mart, the one in Espanola and the one in Los Lunas. I get on the internet, find the number and call Espanola and the clerk tells me that they do not have it. I do the same with the w-mart in Los Lunas but do not get anyone to pick up. As much as I hate to do so, I decide that I have to go back and get my charger because it would be hard for my photography not to have the battery charger and even harder to replace it.
I drive first to Espanola, stop at the store and ask again only to get the same answer, No, we don′t have it. I try to call the store in Los Lunas but still no one picks up, so I begin my drive south back through Albuquerque and after crossing IH 40, I try calling again and this time someone answers. I ask if they have found the charger and the woman says, Yes, we have it. What a relief this is.
I drive to Los Lunas and go directly to the w-mart and receive my charger. After that, I get in the jammer and drive north all the way to Espanola where I stop at the w-mart and work on my computer until dark. Then, I retire to the jammer and get horizontal.

Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, walk into the w-mart, then set up my computer, check com, and finally go for coffee. I check the local congregation and there is a meeting this Thursday at 7 pm, so I decide to stay so as not to miss the mid-week meeting this week. I don′t like to miss meetings.
So, I work on my computer all day and when the w-mart closes, I go out to the jammer and get horizontal. Too, I have been trying all day to eat only food that is on the list of living food. I know, coffee is not on the list but I still drink it in the morning.
(Day 226 TG) 38°F. 7:30 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, lie in the sack for a time, then finally rise, dress, walk inside to set up my computer, check com, and then coffee. I continue pound keys all day right up to six this evening when I pack out, put on my meeting clothes and then drive to the Kingdom hall for the meeting.
After the meeting, I head back to the w-mart to check com once more and then get into the horizontal.
(Day 227 TG) 42°F. 7:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress, walk inside, com, coffee, computer. At noon, I check the weather on the internet and it informs me that it is fifty degrees outside. Methinks it is time to move a little further north. I pack out and drive first north out of Espanola on SH 68 to the Ohkay Owingeh reservation, turn west on SH 74 to cross the bridge over the Rio Grande and when doing so notice a bypassed bridge just down river. I drive to this old bridge, take photos of it, give it the name Yungue Owingeh Foot Bridge and decide to add it to my Truss Bridge gallery. From the Yungue Owingeh bridge, I continue on SH 74, cross the Chama River and then turn north on US 84 which follows the Chama River up to Chama, New Mexico, where I stop and ask about the condition of SH 17 over the continental divide. Getting the all clear, I begin the climb on SH 17 which follows the Chama 1 for five miles and the highway begins to follow, Wolf Creek, a tributary of the Chama river as well as the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic (C&TS) railroad the rest of the way up to Cumbres Pass at 10,022 feet where I cross the continental divide. A short distance further, I drive through La Manga Pass at 10,320 feet and begin down into Colorado still on SH 17 along first tributaries of and then the Conejos River 2 to the town of Antonio, Colorado where the other end of the C&TS railroad has a turn around depot.
All along this route, I am taking photos of the two rivers, both tributaries of the Rio Grande and plan to include both in the Rivers Gallery. Also, when up at the summits, there is still a very lot of snow yet to melt, which explains why the Rio Grande is at near flood stage ever since Del Rio, Texas.
After coming to the end of SH 17 in Colorado, I turn north on US 285 take another photo of the Conejos river, then driver to Alamosa, Colorado and stop at a stand alone w-mart that I see when entering town, one that I did not see last week. It is open until ten this evening so I sit inside and upload photos from today′s journey.
At ten, I pack out and drive to the d-mart for the night.

Awake, dress, drive, coffee, com, computer, and the routine continues for another day.
When I check, I find out that Alamosa is Spanish for cottonwood and these are the trees that are plentiful here in the Rio Grande valley. Alamosa is a derivative of Alamo which in Spanish is a popular tree like a cottonwood.
At nine, I pack out, drive to the d-mart and get into the horizontal.

(Day 229 TG) 30°F. 7:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress and drive to the w-mart for coffee and to study for the meeting this morning. There is frost on the windshield that the defroster dispatches quickly and methinks I am so glad to have a good working heater. I pack out at nine, dress in my meeting clothes and drive to the hall which is just one mile after crossing the Rio Grande river. After the meeting, I stand in the parking lot to talk with Gary who is a little under 60 years old and lost his wife in 2009 to breast cancer.
He tells me that he is in to eating healthy and I offer to show him my kitchen and what I eat. He says that he is impressed and I tell him that the diet that I eat should be my life style but I was so indoctrinated growing up that going out to eat is a treat, that it is hard for me to break away from the old way. I even give him a taste of my living food fudge. We exchange contact information and then he heads east towards Mount Blanca while I start the jammer and drive the one mile west, cross the Rio Grande and head for the w-mart.
I then continue pounding keys until well after dark when I pack out and drive to the d-mart for the evening.
(Day 230 TG) 34°F. 7:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Wake, dress, drive to the w-mart for coffee and to wait for the day to warm up. At eleven, I walk out to the jammer for something to eat and think, it is beginning to warm up nicely, so I pack out and drive to the Alamosa city park to photograph the large cottonwood trees alongside the river. Then from there, I begin my drive west on US 160 across the relatively flat San Luis valley through Del Norte, Colorado upriver to South Fork, Colorado where I turn right and head northwest on SH 149. I plan to go upriver along the Rio Grande as far as I can go before I am stopped by snow covered roads. (US 160 goes to Pagosa Springs over Wolf Creek Pass at 10,850 elevation. (I will do the US 160 route at another time.)
I continue upriver from South Fork, Colorado on the state route in a northwest heading and begin to see a lot more snow both along side the river and in the mountains all around and stop often to take photos of the river and the mountains. I am impressed at how the Rio Grande cut through the mountain at Wagon Wheel Gap. There must have been a large lake there for a long time before the overflow waterfall cut the gap.
Upon arriving at Creede, Colorado, I drive through town which crosses to the north of the Rio Grande and up two miles of Willow Creek. I did not know that County road 500, also know as Deep Creek Road travel across the south side of the river and bypasses the drive into town, but I do now.
I continue upriver on SH 149 now heading southwest for about fifteen miles where both the river and the highway make an expansive turn back to the northwest, a turn known to the locals as the Oxbow.
Here, I find the Rio Grande river covered with ice in most places and frozen solid in a few places. I continue upriver a short distance to where SH 149 continues to the northwest but the river turns again to the southwest. Here, i find the Forest Service road that follows the river to be still closed for travel.
I turn back and stop at Freemons General store but find it to be closed as well. Too, bad, a shower would have been nice.
(Day 231 TG) 30°F. 6:30 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake before my alarm goes off and start the jammer engine to warm up the inside and then get back under the covers and wait. When the alarm goes off, I rise and find that it is now warm inside the jammer, so I dress in my winter blues and drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and to begin pounding keys to get all the photos from yesterday up to the website.
At six this evening, I pack out, retire to the jammer to dress for the meeting and soon after begin driving to the hall to see if I can encourage somebody.
(Day 232 TG) 44°F. 7:30 am, cloudy
Overnighting in a parking lot
I awake to a pleasantly cool morning, not cold, dress, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, and key pounding. I go online to fill in my tax form and download the finished document. Now, I just need to print and mail it. I call around town and find that the library has a blank available, so drive there to obtain the paper form, return to the w-mart to fill it in, then find an envelope, a stamp and now just need to find a place to mail it.
After finishing that task, I continue to work longer on my photos that I have taken over the last few days and get many uploaded for viewing on the website. Also, I begin looking online at the weather and find out than another of what is now being called a bomb cyclone and amounts to what as a child growing up in coastal Texas we would understand it to be when called a northerner.
At eight this evening, I pack out, drive out of Alamosa south on US 285 up over the high plateau (over 8500 feet) and back once again down into the Rio Grande rift valley further south to a previous stop on my journey north along the Grand River, drive to the d-mart and get into the horizontal.
(Day 233 TG) 39°F. 7:00 am, cloudy
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, snooze a little longer and finally rise, dress and walk inside for my developed routine. Although it is somewhat warmer, I do not want to deal with freezing weather and will instead of driving through the mountains during this time of the year will return to my much warmer but also wetter coastal route. Methinks, I will stick it out here, somewhere, until after the Memorial. Time will tell.
Some time after eight this evening, I pack out and head to the d-mart for the night.
(Day 234 TG) 34°F. 7:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, rise, dress in my winter blues, walk inside for coffee, com and computer. I work on cropping and uploading photos much of the day.
When darkness falls upon this desert, I retire to my home on wheels but do not get right into the horizontal but spend some time listening to theocratic videos and listening to songs. I must say, that I have been really enjoying spending time do this as it keeps me focused on the paradise.
(Day 235 TG) 37°F. 9:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
I awake, dress, walk inside for a cup of coffee, check my com and then begin pounding keys. Another customer comes in and sits down near to me and a conversation ensues. Soon, I have given him a copy of the invitation to the Memorial which happens Friday night. We talk for some time and then he has to leave.
Craig, Alexis and Brittany come into the w-mart for a break and when I look up at them, Brittany says, Didn′s you come to the hall last week? to which I reply, Yes, and then left to go up to Colorado but it was much too cold in Alamosa, so I drove back down here. We talk for a little while and share some of the things we have in common, particularly the brotherhood and the paradise. We exchange phone numbers and when then they go back out into the ministry, I resume the key pounding position.
Later in the evening, another person who I have also been talking to about God comes in and we talk for a time. Finally, shortly after a beautiful three hundred and sixty sunset, I pack out myself and retire to the jammer for the evening.
(Day 236 TG) 30°F. 7:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
After a cold night, I awake and find frost on the windshield. Then, I dress, grab my stainless steel cup, tablet and sweater, open the door and walk into the w-mart for coffee and to study the article Keep Your Integrity! Then, at nine this morning, I pack out to get dressed for the meeting and then drive to the hall for the special talk.
After the meeting, I drive back to the w-mart but before going in, walk to the hair cut shop to continue pounding keys
(Day 237 TG) 35°F. 7:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, walk inside the w-mart to buy coffee and to check com, and then by ten this morning leave to drive to a hot springs for a soak. I take IH 25 north to Las Vegas, NM, then SH 65 to Montezuma, NM and when I set the large building that looks like a castle on the hilltop, I find the hot spring on the side of the highway.
I arrive at the Montezuma hot springs just after noon, walk down the short walk to look at the location and decide that I want to get in. I walk back to the jammer, change into my swim suit and then head back for the hot water. The source pool is a concrete tub with overflows into lower concrete pools. I estimate that the source tub is about 114 degrees because I can only stay in that water for about one minute before I must get out.
The next pool is cooler, possibly 105 degrees and is conducive to soaking for longer time and I do spend a longer time in this pool. After getting my fill of hot water, I explore the hillside along the highway and find that there are two more locations where concrete has been used to create hot spring pools.
At about three this afternoon, I pack out and drive back to Espanola, stop at the w-mart and work some on my journal. However, I am tired and get into the horizontal early this evening.
(Day 238 TG) 39°F. 6:30 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake early, walk inside for coffee, com and computer. I check the internet for another near by hot springs and find one west of Los Alamos, New Mexico, not far above Jemez Springs on SH 4. I get the GPS coordinates and then pack out by ten this morning driving first on SH 30 south to SH 502, turn west and drive to Los Alamos. I stop first in town and then continue west on SH 502 and have to go through the guard gate of Los Alamos National Laboratory. Then, I continue west on SH 502 to where it intersects SH 4, which to the east is Bandelier, which national monument on Day 1080 BR I had already examined thoroughly to find both petroglyph and stone stackers.
So, instead, I turn west through Valles Caldera National Preserve, which I have also driven by but never gone into the preserve, mostly because it is all dirt roads. I continue on SH 4 to a canyon overlook and stop to see what is below. When looking down into the canyon, I realize that what I am looking at is my destination, the parking lot for the hot springs trail. I continue down into the canyon, park in the parking lot, get out my day hike gear, put on my hiking shoes and begin the half mile hike to the hot water.
The hike is a tough one for this old man, first down several long switchbacks to San Antonio creek, across a really nice footbridge, then a steep climb up through a rock jungle infested with muddy ruts. For a little while, I was back walking the AT in North Carolina with the Rock and Roots and Ruts.
After a long struggle for this old man, I do finally make it to Spence hot springs but it is truly not a hot spring, but just warm, only about 100 degrees. Again, I must say that the surrounding area is quite nice and just above the springs is a large clearing where it looks like some have camped. Too, the view is almost worth coming, well almost but no. However, I don′t ever get in, but after taking some photos and resting up a bit, I begin the hike back to the parking lot.
I drive south on SH 4 and soon arrive at Jemez Historic Site but find it to be closed on Mondays and Tuesday so do not get to tour this stone stacker site. I continue south through the village of Jemez, New Mexico where there is another fee hot springs but do not stop here either.
I drive through Jemez Pueble and finally arrive at US 550 where I turn right and drive north through Cuba, New Mexico and just west of there, cross over the continental divide at only 7380 feet with the coordinates of 36.0765, -107.1359.
I continue northwest on US 550 and arrive at Bloomfield where I stop at a car wash to clean the jammer. While I am there, I talk with Delanita, a young woman who tells me that she is Navajo native American and was raised in a Christian church. As we talk, she seems to be searching for something, so I am able to share some Bible verses, show here a video and even give her a Bible publication.
I next drive to Farmington, New Mexico where I know there is a w-mart and d-mart close together as well as a hall nearby, drive to the w-mart and get online to check my com. I also check for the location of the nearby halls and for where the Memorial will be held this Friday evening and decide to go to the meeting at the Aztec congregation.
Then, I drive to the d-mart and find a dark spot in the parking lot to get horizontal.
(Day 239 TG) 44°F. 6:30 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, rise, dress, drive to the w-mart and go in to set up my office. I work on my journal, my photos, and even some on the new social media that I have joined.
At nine pm, I pack out to the jammer to eat my salad and retire for the evening.

Awake, dress, drive, coffee, com, computer. I upload photos for Montezuma hot springs and update some of my Living Food pages.
At nine this evening, I pack out and head for the d-mart for the night and notice that the moon is already full.

Awake to a comfortable morning, dress in my fall blues, start the jammer and drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, and computer. I watch the special video from the world headquarters and then plug in my ear phones and then listen to the original songs. Last evening, when I was on the JW Library app, I found out that each of the original songs has a video that goes with it. Wow, did some of the videos that I watch jerk out tears in abundance.
Then, at five this afternoon, I pack out and begin getting ready for the meeting tonight
Saturday, 20 April 2019, Farmington, NM.
(Day 242 TG) 49°F. 6:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Up before suntouch, the moon still one hand high above the western horizon. It is warmer this morning than it has been for a long time, ever since leaving El Paso on Day 220 TG, at which time I thought it would be good to travel north into the mountainous area to find a cooler location to overnight. I have to say, methinks the last three weeks have been a cold time in the mountains. In the future, I will know were to come to get away from the hot nights. Too, it does not look like it is going to warm up here much for still a while longer, maybe not even until next month.
I will stay here for at least one more day so that I may get to listen to the special talk here in town from a visiting speaker from the headquarters in Warwick, New York. Methinks I will leave soon after to go to Mesa Verde in Colorado where I know there is campground with both a hot shower and laundry, both of which I need to make use of.
At seven this evening, I pack out of the w-mart to go to a Mexican restaurant for my supper.
Sunday, 21 April 2019, Farmington, NM.
(Day 243 TG) 48°F. 6:30 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake just as the sun is beginning to rise above the horizon, dress, take my trash to the garbage can, and then back to the jammer to drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. Again, the temperature today is nothing less than ideal and dress in my fall blues.
At eight-thirty this morning, I pack out to the jammer, put on my meeting clothes and then drive to the hall on the north side of town. Brother Swan, the same brother who gave the memorial talk Friday, gives the public talk. I see a couple of the brothers that I recognize and visit with them. After the meeting, I pack out and drive to the d-mart to buy some vegetables.
Then, I leave out of town on SH 170 north to Colorado, continue north on SH 140 until I arrive in Hermosas, Colorado and turn west on US 160, drive though Mansos, Colorado and upon arriving at Mesa Verde national park, drive up the entrance highway the four miles to Morefield campground where I grab my shower bag, towel, wash cloth and go into the hot water to put on the clean. I stay under the hot for a very long time before getting out and after, return to the jammer to grab my dirty clothes bag, dress shirts, towel, laundry soap and then walk into the laundry to further put on the clean.
By four this afternoon, I am done with all the cleaning chores, so I decide that I will head out of the park down to the town in the valley. I arrive at the f-mart and can hardly get on to the internet. Frustrated, I end up eating fast food and then go to the d-mart to overnight.
(Day 244 TG) 40°F. 6:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Now I remember why I did not stay long in Cortez the last time I was here, the d-mart limits overnighters to one night, the f-mart has the worst WiFi and the w-mart does not have WiFi. The national park is why I keep coming to this part of the country, not Cortez, Colorado so I am out of here!
I leave north on SH 145, stop briefly at the Canyon of the Ancients to look for some information about those who traveled across the Bering Sea land bridge but have still not found what I am looking for. After leaving the visitors center, I drive north on SH 145 along the Dolores River up to the Lizard Head pass, elevation 10,222 feet and then down a short distance to the Telluride sky area but decide not to stop here because it is just a huge turkey shoot. I continue down along the San Miguel river until I arrive at Placerville, Colorado and turn right onto SH 62 to follow Leopard Creek up to the Dallas divide summit, elevation 8970 feet, where I stop and make myself a cup of daystart before continuing.
The state highway crosses the Uncompahgre river and immediately after arrives at US 550 where I turn left and head north. In another twenty-five miles, I find myself arriving in Montrose, Colorado where I find a w-mart, stop, park, walk inside and get online. I stay here the rest of the day working on my computer, updating my journal entry and catching up on uploading photos.
Then at nine, I pack out to the jammer and drive back down the highway about a half mile to the d-mart for the evening.
(Day 245 TG) 43°F. 6:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress, drive to the w-mart, coffee, com, computer. I pound keys all day and then at six this evening, I pack out, dress in my meeting clothes and drive the several block south to the hall.
I arrive early and see one other vehicle parked. As I am parking a brother gets out of his car and begins walking towards me. We introduce ourselves and talk while waiting for the friends to arrive. His name is Bob and he grew up in California because his father was a marine pilot who was stationed at El Toro, California in the 1960s. I tell him that is where I was stationed also but in the early 1970s. He said that because his father was a marine, he traveled a lot.
Soon, we go inside and enjoy the meeting which highlights the upcoming regional convention. After the meeting, I pack out and return to the d-mart for the evening.
(Day 246 TG) 41°F. 6:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress, drive, coffee, com, computer and the story continues, working all morning pounding keys updating many of my health and wellness information pages with link able references.
In the late afternoon, I pack out and drive the jammer to the aw-mart because their sign says, Free Vacuums. Yesterday, I had checked the vacuum station and there is not a place where to deposit money, just pull out the hose and start vacuuming. And that is just what I did and was able to clean all the dirt and food pieces out of the jammer. I also throw away some of the unnecessary items which helps me to better organize my stuff.
When I finish cleaning the jammer, I drive to the restaurant next to the w-mart for a Mexican meal. Then, at dusk, I leave for the d-mart and park for the evening.
(Day 247 TG) 48°F. 7:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
I awake to a very comfortable morning, with extreme low humidity and a pleasant temperature. I dress in my fall blues and drive to the w-mart for my morning routine of coffee, com, and computer.
The work that I am doing this week continues in documenting my research with links to the web sites where I have learned about the information recorded on my web site. I learned of this needed step during the last two weeks where I have been answering questions on a Question and Answer web site, which has resulted in about four thousand views of my answers. Of course, I have links on each of those answer back to my web site where my research is located. This is the entire purpose of answering the questions on this website, to help drive traffic to my web site.
However, many of my answers on the Q&A site do not have the credential that the Q&A site would like me to provide. So, off to the work of adding the credentials to my web site first and then I will be able to quickly transfer the information with the credentials to the Q&A site.
After many hours and as the sun begins its final drop to the horizon, I pack out and head to get something to eat.
(Day 248 TG) 54°F. 7:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake to a comfortable morning, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer for most of this day. I do speak with a medical doctor who recommend consuming some fulvic acid, also called humic acid both of which are mined out of the earth as ancient compost. He says that it is normally used for plants and gardens but he uses it internally to get mega mineral nutrition for his health. I do not know about this but will check it out at the location when I get to Idaho Falls later this year.
Late in the day, at sunset, I pack out and then begin my drive north on US 50 a short distance to the next town and highway change. I locate a d-mart, park and climb into the back.
(Day 249 TG) 55°F. 7:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake to a comfortably warm morning, dress, drive to the f-mart for a cup of coffee and then head out eastward along the Gunnison river and SH 92 but the Gunnison turns south and heads towards the national park just before Hotchkiss, Colorado. After driving through Hotchkiss, I turn northeast on SH 133, along the North Fork Gunnison river and begin climbing up to McClure Pass at elevation 8755 feet, where I stop briefly to prepare something to eat.
Then, I continue down from the pass and soon the Crystal river joins the state highway. At first it is narrow and I see two large waterfalls dropping from the bluff above, then the river begins to grows in size quickly. A short time later, I arrive in Redstone, Colorado, a very quaint village along this mountain waterway. I stop to explore and find a general store with all kinds of memorabilia from the time that I was growing up and it is fun to reminisce for a short time.
Leaving Redstone, I drive four miles north and stop at a large pull out, park, step out of the jammer and walk to the edge of the bank of the Crystal river. Upon looking down, I see the Redstone hot springs which is just a circling of large rocks at the rivers edge, but there are two people soaking.

I do not get in because the hot springs seems to be full at present so I take a couple of photos an continue north on SH 133, past a commercial hot springs and soon after arrive in Carbondale, but do not stay long in this town either and cross the Roaring Fork river and turn left on SH 82.
I know that to the right is Aspen, Colorado, but I have been there before and do not need to see it again. Instead, I continue north on SH 82 to Glenwood Springs, Colorado and stop here at the w-mart to work on my computer.
At four, I pack out and head north on US 82 to see the hot springs here in town. I had driven through Glenwood Springs before but had never stopped to check out the hot water. The hot springs is located next to the Colorado river after it comes out of Glenwood Canyon. The source of the hot water is Yampa Hot Spring with the temperature at 122°F which water temperatues is lowered to 104°F for the therapy pool.
After my short tour, I drive though the developed area near the hot springs and see a nice Mexican restaurant, so I stop and have supper. They do not have fish tacos, so I opted for the vegetable burrito. After eating, I drive to the d-mart to park for the night but there is a sign stating, No Overnight RVs. I then drive back to the w-mart and park in the parking lot here.

(Day 250 TG) 59°F. 6:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Up early, walk into the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I work until ten this morning and then leave north out of Glenwood Springs to IH 70, turn west and drive about twenty-five miles to the Rifle, Colorado exit, get off, drive to the hall to located it and then drive back to a city park in order to clean up and put on my meeting clothes. When I am dressed, I drive back to the hall and go inside for the one pm meeting.
After the meeting, I pack out and find the w-mart here in this town, go inside and begin pounding keys. Just before the sun sets, it begins to rain and the clouds make it dark outside. I pack out at seven-thirty pm and head to the local Mexican.
After eating, I retire to the w-mart and park for the night.
(Day 251 TG) 42°F. 7:00 am, rain
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, walk inside, coffee, com, computer until about ten this morning. I have found that western Colorado is under a winter storm watch and where I am now is right in the middle of it. So, I pack out, leave town, drive west on I 70 to Grand Junction, which is just outside the winter storm, but is within the rain cover.
Upon arriving in my next journey stop location, I locate a w-mart, park, walk inside and continue key pounding until after eight this evening when, I drive to a d-mart, go inside to buy an avocado, coconut milk and a package of peanut butter crackers. I know, I must stop eating inflammatory food, but this one is hard to kick, so, I must pray about it for the strength to kick it.
I then return to the jammer and get into the horizontal position to read about the persecution that is going on in Russia against our brothers. Wow, the end is getting nearer each day.
(Day 252 TG) 45°F. 7:00 am, rain
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress, drive to the w-mart, coffee, com, computer. I locate a local hall where I can go to the mid-week meeting. It is on 3/4 road here in Clifton. I have never before seen a road with a fraction for a name.
At six this evening, I pack out to the jammer, dress in my meeting clothes and then drive to the hall to await the meeting to begin. Soon, I am sharing banter with the friends in the Clifton congregation who are a very nice group.
After the meeting, I drive back to the d-mart and set up for the night.
(Day 253 TG) 45°F. 6:50 am, rain
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, start the jammer engine to warm up and begin getting dressed. Soon after, I am driving to the w-mart where I go inside for coffee, com and computer. At noon, I pack out and drive into Grand Junction, Colorado and locate the hg-mart to buy some more vegetables including pre-cooked beets.
Afterwards I drive to the w-mart, this one on the southwest side of Grand Junction, Colorado to continue awaiting warmer weather before I more north a distance further and here pound keys.
At seven, I pack out, drive first to Chipotle for supper, then to the d-mart and park for the night.

(Day 254 TG) 36°F. 6:50 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake to the sun shining into the jammer, which is so much better than the last several rainy days. I dress, drive to the w-mart and repeat my routine, coffee, com and computer, working most of the day and going out to the jammer for food.
At nine this evening, I pack out and drive back to the d-mart for the night.
Friday, 03 May 2019, Grand Junction, CO.
(Day 255 TG) 39°F. 6:50 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Although is it still in the high thirties, the temperature does not feel bad at all. I awake again without the help of my alarm, drive to the hg-mart for another package of the cooked beets as I do so like them and just have a need for more. Then, I drive to the opposite side of the interstate and into the parking lot of the w-mart to continue the wait for the warm.
Upon looking at the temperature forecasts for the southernmost areas of Wyoming where I know there are hot showers but finding daytime temperatures only rising to the mid-fifties and nighttime dropping to freezing and even below, I do not anticipate moving much further north any time soon. So, to access a location with a hot shower, methinks I must move south from here and plan to leave right after the meeting Sunday.
At eight-thirty this morning, I pack out, dress in my meeting clothes, and drive towards the hall, stopping first at the hg-mart to buy a few vegetables.
Saturday, 04 May 2019, Grand Junction, CO.
(Day 256 TG) 44°F. 6:40 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress and walk into the w-mart for coffee, com and computer, spending the day updating my research work about healthy living. One notable research item that I have learned is eggs are not nutritious nor healthy, despite how really good they taste.
After the sunset, I go to the Mexican restaurant next door for supper and the food was so authentic, Donald Trump would build a wall around it. After eating, I drive to the d-mart to spend the evening.
Sunday, 05 May 2019, Grand Junction, CO.
(Day 257 TG) 45°F. 6:10 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake this morning just as the sun is beginning to rise above the horizon. The dawn is sure coming early now, especially because the year is progressing and I am getting into the higher latitudes of this continent. I dress in my fall blues, drive to the w-mart, park, walk in and set up my computer, and imbibe on coffee, com and key pounding. At eight this morning, I pack out, dress in my meeting clothes and drive first to the hg-mart for some vegetables and then to the hall, arriving at nine this morning. I have to wait outside for a short time and then the friend begin to arrive.
Nice meeting with a very nice congregation, after which, I drive back to the w-mart to check mileages and then decide to drive through Moab, Utah on my way south to Mesa Verde. I do stop in Moab briefly and then continue on my way south, on US 191 to Montecello where I turn east on US 491, drive to Cortez and then turn east on US 160 another five miles to the national park, drive four miles into the park and then grab my bag, go inside and take a much needed hot shower.
After my shower, I drive back into Cortez, stop at the d-mart and shut down for the evening, remembering that the d-mart only allows one overnight at this store.
(Day 258 TG) 49°F. 6:20 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake early again, drive to the w-mart and only get a cup of hot water to go. Then, I walk out to the jammer, open the rear gate, use some of my instant coffee, stir and then get into the drivers seat to drive. I drive east out of Cortez on county road G, one that I have used before.
In fact, when I drive west on US 160, I see the brown sign informing me to turn here for Hovenweep national monument. After a long slow drive on the county road, and shortly after crossing into Utah, I arrive at the park by eight-thirty this morning and wait for the visitors center to open.
They do not have the one thing that I wanted, a journey on, petroglyph bumper sticker. The last one I purchased was dark blue and it is not visible on the dark rear window. I want to remove the blue one and replace it with a white sticker if I can find one. Leaving the park, I travel on a Navajo reservation road, then on SH 262 until I arrive at US 191, the same one that during the fall last year, I drove from Montana to the Mexican border, only this drive, it is northbound. However, I turn onto SH 95 and take it to the Natural Bridges national monument where I immediately go into the visitors center to look for the white sticker and find one. After I purchase the sticker, I leave the park and continue west on SH 95. I had some indecision about this route because I knew if I backtracked to US 191, it would take less time to drive to Wyoming. Still, I have never before driven this ninety mile section and the road atlas has it marked as a scenic route.
By the time I arrived in Hanksville, Utah and turned off of SH 95 onto SH 24, some four hours later, my camera was loaded with all kinds of photos. From Hanksville, I drive north on SH 24 to IH 70, then east a few miles and by turning north, I resume my travel on US 191 towards Price, Utah.
By six-thirty, I pull into a d-mart, set up my sun shades and before I get horizontal, I catch up on my journal writing. It has been a long day on the road, over 330 miles, so I am tired and need to sleep.
(Day 259 TG) 50°F. 6:00 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Up at daybreak, start the jammer and begin the day′s dry, all of it on US 191, well, except for a couple of stops along the way for photos. This highway is such a scenic route and this trip it is entirely different from my drive after leaving Yellowstone on Day 24 TG for two reasons. First, I am driving north and get to see an entirely new perspective. Second, in September, the aspen were all in fall foliage, and now, they are all bare of any leaves. I especially enjoyed the Flaming Gorge area with the totally white through Cart Creek suspension bridge and stop at the visitors center and this time they have a bumper sticker. When I leave, it is raining quite hard with intermixed hail and then I continue north on US 191 up and over one summit over 8000 feet, but it is still only raining. Finally, I go over a second summit an the rain changes to snow and begins coming down much harder and when it turns the road white, I find need to slow down considerably, but keep going.
Soon after the summit, the snow stops and later I drive out from under the dark cloud and into the sunlight. I arrive in Rock Springs just before noon and drive directly to the recreation center, pay my $2.50 senior fee and go in for a hot shower and as soak in the hot tub.
Afterwards, I drive to the w-mart for a few hours to work on my computer and then at six this evening, I pack out to the jammer, change into my meeting suit and drive to the hall for the mid week meeting. So many are the friends that greet me by name, that I feel very welcome here. Afterwards, I drive to the d-mart for the evening.
Wednesday, 08 May 2019, Rock Springs, WY.
(Day 260 TG) 33°F. 6:00 am, rainy
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake to a cold morning, dress in my winter blues, drive to the w-mart and go in for coffee, com, and computer. When I go out to the jammer to get something to eat, the wind is blowing so cold and hard that it bites at any exposed skin. I go back in to have my Daystart and look online where I can drive to south of here for warmer weather and decide on Grand Junction, CO. I also check the weather radar and see the only snow is east of my location making the drive south clear.
I am out of here. I pack out, drive to the af-mart to buy some of the very inexpensive gasoline and then begin the drive south on US 191 back through the beautiful snowscapes on the three summits over 8100 feet. Then, upon arriving at Vernal, Utah, I turn east on US 40, drive to Dinosaur, Colorado. After stopping at the visitors center, I continue south on the Stegosaurus highway (SH 64) to Rangely, Colorado.
In Rangely, I turn south on SH 139 and begin the drive along Douglas creek up to Douglas pass (8268 feet), stop for the grand view and then drive down the north side of the pass to Loma, Colorado. Finally, I take a left on IH 70 and then drive the dozen miles to the w-mart in Grand Junction where I go inside, set up my computer and begin pounding keys.
At nine, I pack out to the jammer and drive to the d-mart for the evening as I am tired from the driving today.
Thursday, 09 May 2019, Grand Junction, CO.
(Day 261 TG) 44°F. 7:00 am, sun with clouds
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake after a comfortable night of sleep, dress in my fall blues, drive across the highway to the w-mart and go inside for coffee, com and computer. At eleven, when I go out to the jammer for food, the temperature is comfortably warm. I return inside and enjoy a cup of my Daystart.
The journey north this year has been a very cold one and upon trying to understand why, methinks it must be for two reasons. First, this has been a cold, long winter and second, this is the first time I have veered from my regular route of traveling west across the bottom of the continent to then north along the coast. Too, methinks, next year I will return to my previous proven route.
At eight this evening, I pack out to the jammer and drive to the d-mart to retire for the evening.
Friday, 10 May 2019, Grand Junction, CO.
(Day 262 TG) 51°F. 7:00 am, cloudy
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress, walk into the w-mart for coffee, com, and then I begin pounding keys on my computer.
By eleven, I walk outside for something to eat and there is a huge difference from this location and when I was in Rock Springs. This is much more to my liking and will stay here until I leave to go to the regional convention near Denver which begins on Friday morning, 24 May 2019. I will most likely leave a couple of days before that.
After dark, I retire to the parking lot and get horizontal.

At eight this evening, I pack out and drive to the e-mart and buy a new mouse for my computer, after which, I drive to the d-mart for the evening.

At nine this morning, I pack out, walk to the jammer and put on my meeting clothes, drive to the hall for the meeting and fellowship. Afterwards, I drive to the hg-mart for some fruit and vegetables. Then, I return to the w-mart tor the afternoon for com and computer.
By six this evening, I am wore out and ready to call it quits for the day, so I pack out and go for Mexican.
Then recharged from the meal, I sit in the jammer and upload health tips to the online question and answer forum. At ten, I put up the electronics and get into the horizontal.

For the last two days, I have slept in until moments before my alarm sounds at seven o′clock. At this time now, the sun is already more than one hand into it upward climb. Yes, we are fast approaching the summer of this year.
I continue working on photos to sort, crop, place in at location on a web page and then upload the updated pages to the web site. I continue until almost nine this evening and then drive to the d-mart to sleep.

After a day at the w-mart working on and uploading photos to the web site, I drive to the d-mart and begin looking for the full moon. With the sky being overcast in a wide region, I did not expect to even see the moon. However, about ten this evening, it began to appear through the fading cloud cover.
After numerous photos of the moon through the clouds, I finally retire.

Full Flower Moon
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress, drive to the w-mart, go inside for coffee, com, computer and to upload my moon photos. Once, the moon has found it′s place on the web site, I pack out and head to the hall for the morning ministry meeting.
I work with three others and we do mostly return visits and finish up with some territory. Afterwards, I go for something to eat and then back to the w-mart to pound keys for a time longer. Early in the afternoon, I pack out to the jammer to take a nap. I have decided to leave right after the meeting tomorrow. I will drive north to Wyoming and then east over the continental divide to Saratoga.
After packing out notice an oil spill under the jammer engine, reach under rub my finger in it and the do the touch and smell test to find out what it is. I say to myself, it is coolant, finally the leak which I have been smelling for several days has made an appearance. I drive to the d-mart and buy a gallon of coolant and also a gallon of distilled water, mix the two into two coolant containers. With one, I open the hood and fill the radiator.
Finally, I drive back to the w-mart check my com and find several who have posted to Facebook and comment on one. Then, I begin working on the volcano gallery.

Overnighting in a parking lot
Up after a windy night which made it seem much colder than it is, then dress, walk inside for coffee, com and computer. I begin my study for the meeting today and finish before nine this morning. Then, I update my current entry in my journal and upload it to the website. At nine-thirty this morning, I drive to the hall and walk inside for the meeting. Both before and after, I talk with several of the friends and learn that there is a community recreation center with a hot shower in Frutia, Colorado just nine miles west on the interstate. This fact changes my plans for this week prior to driving to the convention next weekend as I will no longer need to drive to Saratoga for my hot shower.
Immediately after the meeting, I drive to a ap-mart to buy a new lower radiator hose, which is my best guess for what is causing the coolant leak. My hope, methinks, is that the cause is only a hose and not something mechanical. Then, with receipt in hand because the store will not have it in until Tuesday afternoon, I walk back out to the jammer and change the oil and oil filter. This takes less than an hour, after which I drive to Furita, find the recreation center, grab my shower bag and go in for some hot water.
After putting on the clean, I drive to the local w-mart to pound keys and upload my work to the website. At eight this evening, I drive back to Grand Junction, stop at the d-mart, go inside to purchase some oils for the jammer engine and then walk back to the jammer to install these oils. What remains in the bottles goes under the hood for later and then I climb into the jammer to get horizontal.

Awake to another windy morning, dress in my fall blues, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, and computer. I work on the Colorado River photos that are now on my computer, sorting, cropping and putting on the rivers page of my rive photo gallery. I have divided the Colorado river into sections between the major tributaries and the photos from each section go onto that section on the particular river page.
While I was in the w-mart, the temperature outside began to drop and by the time I pack out, it had gotten below fifty degrees. After stopping for fish tacos, possibly the best ever, I drive to the d-mart and park for the night.

At six-twenty, I head to the hall for the meeting and visit with the friend before and after. After that, I drive back to the w-mart, get online to check com and finally get horizontal for the evening.

(Day 274 TG) 50°F. 7:00 am, rainy
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, walk inside for coffee, com, computer, which I first catch up on my journal writing until it warms up outside. At noon, I check the weather and it says that it is 55 degrees outside and also has reached the high for the day. So, I pack out and drive to the d-mart parking to replace the lower radiator hose. When I open the hood, I see a small stream of coolant spraying out of a small pinhole in one of the coolant fittings. I look closer and see that there is a small crack in the weld.
I decide that a radiator hose will not fix this leak so I drive to a ap-mart and ask if they have the park. The parts clerk finds the part in his book but he says it is a week before it will arrive here. Then he picks up the phone and begins calling his competitors until he finds one with the part. He asks them to hold the part for me. I drive to that store, purchase the part and then go outside to put it on. I am amazed that it only takes a half hour to remove the old one and install the new one. I then flush the radiator, drain it and install new coolant. Wow, methinks, that was easy and then thank Jehovah for allowing this repair to go so easy for me.
Leaving the ap-mart, I drive down North street until I find a af-mart, stop in and fill the tank. Next door is an aw-mart, drive there and wash the jammer. After all that is done, I drive west on I-70 to Fruita, Colorado, drive to the community center and pay four dollars to use the shower. Methinks that it is so nice to not have to be concerned about my five hour drive to get to the convention this weekend and again, I have reason to thank Jehovah for providing so wonderfully for me. I drive back to the w-mart in Grand Junction, go inside and have a sandwich and large glass of water and compose on paper the events of this day.
I had planned to leave tomorrow morning but then decided to drive some of the 250 mile trip today. I pack out of the w-mart and begin my drive at about eight this evening, drive through Grand Junction and then head east on IH 70 and drive nearly 100 miles to Glenwood Springs where I exit the interstate and drive to the w-mart to park. I will continue my drive of 150 miles tomorrow.
The temperature in Aurora, Colorado will be high thirties tomorrow (Thursday) night but mid forties both Friday and Saturday nights. Methinks, I could not ask for it to be any better.
I am really looking forward to this convention, especially after seeing some photos and videos on Facebook.

I awake, dress, walk into the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. Looking up and out the window, I see snow on the top of the nearby hills. After my second cup of coffee, I pack out and begin my drive to Aurora and the Regional Convention. I just received a text from Louis and he will be there as well. At nine, I pack out and return to the eastward drive on IH 70.
I drive through to Denver, take the US 6 exit east to IH 25, then south to the E Arapahoe Road exit and turn left on Arapahoe Road. A short distance down the this road, I stop to gas up with the cheapest gasoline that I have found for a long time.
It was $2.359 per gallon. After I filled up, I returned to Arapahoe Road and drive east to E Smoky Hill Road, turn right and immediately come to the g-mart where I turn in and find Gordon.
We park our vans so the drivers windows are lined up and we catch up on all the things that we have to say to one another. Then at nine this evening, we both climb into the back of our vans and get horizontal.

Awake to the alarm and notice that the sun is just rising above the horizon. I look out the window and see that Gordon already dressed. I get dressed and then go inside for coffee. When I come back to the jammer, I see that he drove to the ff-mart to get his coffee. Then we both drive to the assembly hall and since the gates are open, drive in and park.
We walk up to the doors and at eight this morning, the doors open for seniors and the disabled. We go inside and claim out seats. Then I take a photo of us at the Love Never Fails 2019 Regional Convention in Aurora, Colorado.

Soon after, I grab my Bible, songbook and tablet and walk to where Gordon had parked and get into the passenger seat. We wait until seven-fifty and then walk up to the entrance door. Soon, we are inside and walking to out seats.
The Last talk of the day is again by Brother Let. He is a man of many facial expressions, which to me makes his talk every so much better. I truly enjoy listening to him give talks.

Awake, dress, drive to the ff-mart and sit with Gordon to await the time for us to drive to the assembly hall. At six-thirty, I say Let′s Go, pack out and drive to the hall. The gate is already open and we drive into our parking spaces.
I open up the tail gate, get out my stove and prepare coffee, my tea to keep me awake and a pot of tea tree tea. Then, I walk to the senior entrance and wait with the other friends to get in at eight this morning.
Soon, we are in out seats for the last day of the 2019 Regional Convention. I walk up to the front of the hall to see the text for the day.
Then, all too soon, the noon break is upon me. I walk out to the jammer and prepare an organic salad, have a can of sardines and drink my stay awake tea. I also talk to several of the friends who stop to say hello.
Then, I walk back to my seat for the final session.

(b1a11-13-03d.20190526.1457) Final Talk on Sunday By Brother Let
Brother Let is the speaker for the final talk of this convention and like both of his previous talks, this one has been tied in from the Atlanta, Georgia International Convention.
I continue today with my photographing him during his presentation, simply because I love how expressive he is when he gives a talk. He makes several comments throughout his talk with reference to us being in the last day. One in particular is how close we are to the time when Gog of Magog attacks and destroys religion.
Then he says that when Gog turns on God′s people, he will response with his loyal love to provide his people with protection. In fact, Armageddon in an act of loyal love towards his faithful people.
We then sing a new original song and the brother who came up to say the concluding prayer said, Wow, and that was the first time you have sung that song.
I then pack out, drive to the w-mart, upload my photos and soon after that, leave out of Denver on IH 70 to head back to the western parks.
At nine-forty, I arrive at Glenwood Canyon and upon arriving at exit 121, leave the interstate to overnight at the rest stop.

Then, i return to the jammer to continue east on IH 70 to Clifton, Colorado where I exit the interstate and drive to the w-mart on 32nd road for coffee, com and computer.
I look online and find a l-mart because all of my dress shirts need washing. Then after acquiring my second cup of hot, I head west towards Grand Junction on US 6 to locate the l-mart. It is a good feeling to have clean clothes again.
I then drive to the w-mart on 24th road for something to eat and after I receive my, a woman near me asks Why didn′s you get the sandwich at 24 road, we have them there? I turn to her and recognize her from when I was at the previous w-mart and reply, "I had to go and do laundry. Besides, when I asked for a breakfast wrap, they were out." She then laughs. I get my sandwich and return to my computer to continue pounding keys.
The w-mart closes early for the worldly holiday and I pack out and drive to a Mexican restaurant for a grilled fish smothered with mushrooms and spinach. Wow, is that good, but I also have the inflammatory foods, rice, beans, chips and tortillas.
Finally, I drive back to the w-mart, get on line and

After a tiring but spiritually fulfilling weekend, I choose to go back to sleep when the alarm goes off at six this morning. I then rise, dress in my fall blues and walk inside for coffee, com and computer, not necessarily in that order.
At six this evening, I stop, pack out, dress in my meeting clothes and dry to the hall for the meeting. The circuit oversee Casey and his wife Lynette are visiting the Monument congregation this week. Casey makes a comment about tagging a scripture on the WT Library app and I approach him after the meeting to ask how it is done. Wow, what a special and useful provision in this application.
After the meeting, I drive to the d-mart, buy some more vegetable and after, park in the lot for the evening.

Awake, rise, dress in my fall blues, walk into the w-mart and do coffee, com, and computer. For the last many days, I have been having the desire to move, resume the journey, retire to the migration but there has remained first in my thoughts, my spiritual well being. The circuit overseer is here this week and I feel that I must needs stay for this reason and my time here will last through Sunday afternoon.
At eight this morning, I pack out to the jammer, put on my meeting clothes, drive to the hall and go out into the ministry. I work with Neut, Evon, Casey and Lynette until noon. Then, I drive back to the w-mart to continue pounding keys.

At eight this evening, I drive to the hw-mart to purchase a roll of nylon cord, walk back out to the jammer and then secure my spare tire on the roof of the jammer. Previously, it was attached with two cords but now it is attached with four. Also, the cord that I used is 100 pound test and each of the two new points of attachment are double cords.
Finally, at nine-thirty, I retire to my parking space and climb into the back of the jammer.

Awake to a comfortable morning, but like that last several days here, the temperature will rise into the high 80s by noon which has been quite uncomfortable for me. I do plan on driving north right after the meeting tomorrow, yes, it is time to move north. At nine, I pack out, dress in my meeting clothes and drive to the hall for the ministry meeting until noon when I return to the cool desk in the w-mart for the afternoon.
Then, at almost eight this evening, I pack out to seek something to eat. I end up going to the hg-mart to buy a package of cooked beets, apples, blueberries and some raspberries. Then, I drive to the d-mart to park for the night but it is too warm to sleep, still in the high 70s. I turn on my device, turn on the WiFi and check my com. Some time after ten, I turn off the electronics and climb into the back.

After sleeping very late, I rise, drive to the w-mart, park, go inside for coffee, com, and computer. At ten-thirty, the circuit overseer enters the coffee shop for a cup of coffee and greets me. I reply to him in kind. The brother with him asks me if I am coming to the meeting today at one o′clock to which I reply, Yes, then I will be heading north to find a cooler location. When they leave, I continue pounding keys.
At noon, I pack out, dress in my meeting clothes, drive to the hall and go inside for the circuit overseers talks. After, with it being in the high 80s, I choose to go to the w-mart and spend the afternoon and evening in the air conditioning. I will most like leave early tomorrow morning.

Awake, walk into the w-mart for a cup of coffee, return to the jammer and begin my drive to Saratoga, Wyoming. I leave Grand Junction on IH 70 east to Rifle, Colorado where I turn north on SH 13 to Meeker, then continue north Craig where I stop for a quick breakfast. Continuing north on SH 13, I cross into Wyoming and continue on SH 789 to Baggs where I turn east on SH 70 and drive along the Little Snake river 2 and up into the Medicine Bow national forest. So far, the entire path from where I turned off the interstate highway in Rifle is entirely new steps for me. Once I arrive at the continental divide at the 9,955 foot Battle Pass I stop to take photos of the snow here. Previously, I had traveled up to this pass from the east side three years ago and saw several deer on the east side of Battle Pass.
I continue down from the divide to the valley, then north on SH 130 to Saratoga, stop, load my shower gear in my day pack and walk to the hot springs. After soaking for a couple of hours, I take a hot shower, put on clean clothes and head back to the jammer. Then, I drive north to IH 80, then east to Rawlings, Wyoming where I stop to refill my gas tank because the gas is always twenty cents cheaper here. In fact, I fill up for 2.659 per gallon here.
Leaving the gas pump, I continue driving west on IH 80 and arrive in Rock Springs, Wyoming before six this evening, stop at the w-mart and update my journal.
Finally, I drive to the d-mart to park for the evening.

After a cool night of sleep, I awake to the sun shining into the jammer. I walk into the d-mart to purchase a paper notebook to use to help compose thoughts for creating episode three. Then, I drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer.
This afternoon, I purchase a new site designer program from the same company that I purchase the html editor that I have always been using to build web sites. This new program will allow me to correct the problems developed across cross electronic platforms. Since more and more people only use a phone to get on the internet and because what I have been building for a website with an html editor just does not work well on phones, I have decided to buy and learn this new type of site design program.
However, until I have become adept at using the site designer for creating a web site, I will continue to update my current site with the html editor.
At six-fifty, I pack out to the jammer, dress in my meeting clothes, drive to the hall and begin greeting the friends in the congregation.

At eight-thirty this morning, I pack out to the jammer, dress in my meeting clothes and head to the hall for the ministry meeting but I arrive late thinking the meeting is at nine-thirty. I drive to the b-mart to get a hair cut and because I am both a senior and veterans, the hair cut is only ten dollars.
Then, I drive to the w-mart and continue pounding keys on the computer. At nine, I pack out and drive to the d-mart for the evening.

Overnighting in a parking lot
I awake, dress, drive and begin to put up the window shades when a man near by asks me if I have jumper cables. I tell him yes, take down my shades and drive to where he is parked. Then, I get out my cables and hand him one end and after he connects it to his battery, I connect the other end to mine. He gets into his vehicle and the car starts right up. After we disconnect and I put away the cables, I drive back to my spot and put the shades back into place, grab my computer bag and walk inside the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. Wow, was that an exciting change.
I begin on the computer with updating my journal, then work more on the new website design. At six-thirty, I pack out, dress and then drive to the hall for the midweek meeting. After that, I drive to the d-mart for the night.

Up to the sun shining into the jammer again this morning, dress in my fall blues, drive to the w-mart and go in for coffee, com and computer. I continue pounding keys using the new site designer and by the afternoon, after creating about fifty pages, with the program slowing down quite a bit, then freezes when I try to save it. This is not good, the program is already locking up and I have not even come close to getting the website redesigned.
In the afternoon, because someone indicated they want to buy one of my online sale items, I check my paypal account and find that I need to update the address information. Finally, at eight-thirty, I pack out and drive to the d-mart to buy a salad, after which I park in my space for the evening and eat before climbing into the back for the night.

Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake long before the alarm, look outside and see the dim light of the dayspring but thinking to myself, so that is what five in the morning here in June looks like, and decide to go back to sleep.
Upon arising, I dress, drive, grab my computer bag, walk into the w-mart, plug in my electronics and then get caught up on my journal writing. Once that is done, I check my com and finally walk up to the counter to get a cup of hot. Returning to my office, I resume work on the new website design until four this afternoon when I pack out drive to the recreation center for a hot shower. I grab my day pack, pay the $2.50 for seniors, take the elevator to the lower level and walk into the locker room where I get under the hot. I also soak in the hot tub for fifteen minutes before packing out and heading back to the w-mart for more key pounding.
At seven, the local w-mart hosts an open microphone with two locals taking turns playing guitar and singing. It is nice to have some live music for a change. I pack out at nine to drive to the d-mart for the night but see the near full moon in the sky so I grab my camera to take a couple of photos. I notice too, that there is a slight color ring around the moon but it only shows when the photo is out of focus.

Rise long before my alarm, dress in my fall blues and drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I begin by checking com and then update my journal. At eight this morning, I pack out, dress in my meeting clothes and drive to the hall for the ministry meeting. There is a large crowd at the hall, methinks because we are in the convention tract work. I am assigned to work with Carsen, Tina and Vern and we go east towards Green River to a territory in Purple Sage, Wyoming. Afterwards, I drive back to the w-mart for more computer.
At eight this evening, I pack out, drive to the d-mart for my last night stay in Rock Springs because tomorrow, after the meeting, I will drive north on US 191 towards Yellowstone. I go inside the d-mart for a salad, pecans, walnuts, and coconut flakes after which, I stow them away in the pantry and then eat my salad during which I study for the meeting in the morning. Finally, I climb into the back and get under the covers.

(Day 299 TG) 51°F. 6:30 am, sunny
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress in my fall blues, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. Then, at nine this morning, I pack out, dress in my meeting clothes and drive to the hall for one more meeting here with the friends in the Rock Springs congregation. Afterwards, I tell my friends good bye, particularly Vern, Carsen, Steve, and a few more. Then, I walk out to the jammer, hang my suit coat up in the back of the jammer on the cross rod, take off my tie and hang it also, and then drive to the af-mart on the old Yellowstone road where I fill up the fuel tank, check the fluids and clean all of the windows. I do the last task so that I can take photos through the clean glass without having to stop and get out. Finally, I change out of my meeting clothes into my driving blues.
After, closing the hood and tailgate, I drive north on Yellowstone road, which was eight miles of the federal highway that was bypassed several decades ago. It was only a two lane highway and in the last mile of the bypass, the roadway has deteriorated very much. It reconnects with the US 191 near the exit for the county road up to the top of white mountain for viewing the wild horses. 4
I do not drive up to white mountain but continue north on US 191 mainly because I have some two hundred and seventy-five miles to drive today before I arrive at Old Faithful. The entire drive is a very familiar one which I have driven many times in past years and I know of a few places that I wish to stop at for various reasons. The first stop is in Pinedale, Wyoming where I would like to take a photo of the Kingdom Hall. While taking the photo, a brother who tells me that his name is Dean drives in and we talk for a time. I ask him for directions to Green River Lakes and he tells me that they are about fifteen miles into the national forest on state highway 532 which is near the hall. I decide not to drive there this time but to continue to the national park today.
Leaving the hall, I continue north on US 191 up into the national forest where the desert landscape gives way to the evergreens and continue until I arrive at the Rim Store and RV park. I stop here to use the restroom and buy a bag of popcorn. Next, I resume my drive north over the summit and then down into Hobart river canyon until it comes to join with US 26 where the Hobart river joins the Snake River. Here, I turn right to continue north on US 191 and follow the Snake river to Jackson, Wyoming where I stop at the g-mart to get online and check for meeting times in Bozeman,Montana. I find out that the mid-week meeting in on Tuesday night, which will cut my stay short at Old Faithful. I buy a couple of food items and soon return to the drive north on US 191. A short distance north from Jackson, I enter the Grand Teton Mountains and only stop for a few photos. Continuing, I then arrive at the Old Faithful Inn some time after seven this evening. Checking, I see that the next geyser is at eight-thirty. After eating supper, I walk out to the geyser but because the sky is filled with clouds, I just know there will not be a geyserbow. I watch the geyser and take a few photos and talk to some of the people who are there also.
Leaving the geyser watching deck, I walk back to the jammer and write my journal entry for today. Too, I look out of the jammer and upwards only to see the sky filled with clouds. Finally, at ten this evening, I climb into the back of the jammer for the night.
The number of people in this park, methinks, is much more to my liking and hopefully, in the future, I will be able to arrive closer to the opening day, which is on 15 May each year.

Overnighting in a parking lot
I awake, dress in my fall blues, walk inside and notice that the sky is again over cast but has some patches of blue. Hopefully, by the end of this day, the sky will clear enough for me to photograph both the geyserbow an the full moon. I walk upstairs and choose one of the desks that have lights because these are located near the few electrical outlets available. I begin writing in my journal to open my day of activities and will be sorting and cropping photos taken over the last few days.
When it becomes nine this morning, I walk to the coffee bar to purchase a cup of hot and two biscotis. Then, I return to my office and continue pounding keys until about noon when I walk downstairs to the deli to buy a salad sandwich and get a glass of water with lemon. Returning back up to my office, I eat lunch and continue pounding keys.
At six-thirty this evening, I pack out to the jammer and organize my pantry. Next I use up the remaining MRP to make a jar of my fudge recipe. Afterwards, I make two more quart zip bags of MRP and put these new bags into my pack bear bag.
During the time that I am working out of the rear lift gate of the jammer, Bill the buffalo is grazing on the grass just in front of the jammer.

At nine this evening, I put away my gear, shut the doors, climb into the pilot seat, start the jammer to charge my phone and then get out my computer to work on my journal entry.
At ten, I walk around outside to look for the moon but it cannot be seen for the clouds. However, a little later, I look out the window, see the moon and I am able to get a good photo of the strawberry full moon.
The Strawberry Moon

Also, I notice that just a couple hands below the moon is a planet, so, I zoom in and immediately determine that it is Jupiter because I can see the four Galilean moons. Upon taking several photos, all I get are just streaks of light and I remember when I was in Hot Sulphur Springs, Colorado, how hard it was to focus on this planet without a tripod.
So, I walk around the jammer to a location where I can brace the camera upon one of the side-mirrors, change the focus setting to Moon Photo, and take another photo. That makes all the difference and I am able to get a photo of Jupiter without the blurs and streaks.

With such a great photo of Jupiter, I retire to the jammer, climb into the back and get horizontal for the night here in Yellowstone park.

The SH 17 departs from the Chama river here which takes a separate path down from the Continental Divide with its headwaters north of Chama Peak at 12,026 feet, near the divide.
2
The Conejos River also veers west from SH 17 and takes its own path up to the Continental Divide with its headwaters surrounding Conejos Peak at 13,179 feet.
3
The Little Snake river flows down from Medicine Bow National Forest in Colorado and Wyoming. It continues west along the state line between the two states past Baggs, Wyoming and then south into Colorado to the confluence with the Yampa River just east of Dinosaur National Monument. The Yampa river enters the monument and continues westerly in the monument and joins with the Green river.
